Our founder’s assignment @CISL is now supported by the Hong Kong Research Institute of Textiles and Apparel, in conjunction with HKSAR Innovation and Technology Commission for a R & D Biobased leather alternatives Project with the professors of City University of Hong Kong to bring this plan to life in a real life scenario and to contribute to a decarbonisation solution for China and the World
This Collaborative R & D Project between Farmaissance Innovation Holdings Limited, City University of Hong Kong, The Hong Kong Research Institute for Textiles and Apparel and HKSAR Innovation and Technology Commission is the culmination of a long process of consultation that began firstly with Jennifer completing the University of Cambridge Institute of Sustainability (CISL) course - "Business & Climate Change: Towards Net Zero Emissions". As a Final Assignment the course challenged her to find "My role in the transition" and the Action Plan she created then is now the basis for this R & D Project.
The combination of the research expertise of the Professors and their team from City University and the support of HKRITA and the HKSAR Innovation Technology Fund has set us on a course to bring this Project to life!
The patented technology and the products that we expect to emerge from this research will have widespread commercial impact, creating jobs and inspiring further innovation. More important however will be the positive climate and UN SDG effects - decarbonisation benefits in agricultural production of the raw materials and along supply chains, elimination of toxic chemicals and enhanced product biodegradability at end of use.
We hope you will be part of this journey with us for a cleaner, safer planet!
